Rights Respecting School Level 2

We have recently been awarded the UNICEF Level 2 "Rights Respecting School Award". We are the first controlled primary school in Northern Ireland to attain the accolade.  All policies and procedures are written in line with the United Nation's Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The following was stated in our recent assessment:

  • Ballycraigy Primary School Community is an inspiration to all who have the well being of children in their hearts
  • The school leadership has established a very inclusive culture based on everyone feeling highly valued as members of a school community
  • We found a purposeful, relaxed atmosphere in all classrooms, with children respecting each other’s right to learn
  • Pupils feel strongly that their opinions and ideas are valued by their teachers
  • The children have a strong voice in the life of the school
